Compression Presets

Apply optimized compression settings in one click

This is a Pro feature. Activate your license to use it.

Presets let you switch between pre-configured compression settings instantly, instead of adjusting individual quality sliders.

Built-in Presets

Compresso includes four built-in presets:

PresetBest forQualityCompression
UltraPhotography sites, portfoliosHighestMinimal
BalancedMost websitesHighGood ratio of quality to size
AggressiveSpeed-focused sites, blogsModerateMaximum savings
ThumbnailSites with many small imagesOptimized for small sizesAggressive on thumbnails

Applying a Preset

  1. Go to Compresso > Presets
  2. Review what each preset changes
  3. Click Apply on the preset you want

Applying a preset updates your compression settings immediately. It won't re-optimize images that have already been processed — use Re-optimize All in bulk optimization to apply the new settings retroactively.

Custom Presets

Create your own presets to save specific combinations of settings:

  1. Configure your desired settings in Compresso > Settings
  2. Go to Compresso > Presets and click Save Current as Preset
  3. Name your preset and save

This is useful if you switch between different optimization profiles — for example, one for product images and one for blog post images.

Size-Specific Presets

You can apply different presets to different image sizes. For example, use Ultra quality for full-size images but Aggressive compression for thumbnails, since thumbnails are displayed small and don't need the same quality.
