Queue Manager
Control the order and priority of image optimization
This is a Pro feature. Activate your license to use it.
The Queue Manager gives you fine-grained control over which images get optimized first and how the optimization queue is organized.
Priority Modes
When building the queue, choose a priority mode to control processing order:
| Mode | Description |
|---|---|
| Largest First | Process the biggest files first for maximum early savings |
| Smallest First | Quick wins — process small files first to show progress fast |
| Recent First | Prioritize newly uploaded images |
| Oldest First | Start with the oldest images in your library |
| Homepage First | Prioritize images that appear on your homepage |
| Custom | Drag and drop to set your own order |
Managing the Queue
Go to Compresso > Queue to see all queued images. From here you can:
- Reorder — Drag and drop items to change their position (Custom mode)
- Skip — Mark an image to be skipped during this run
- Pause — Temporarily hold a specific image
- Retry — Re-attempt a failed image
- Clear — Remove all items from the queue
Auto-Queue New Uploads
When enabled, every new image uploaded to the media library is automatically added to the queue. This works alongside the auto-optimize setting — the queue controls the order, while auto-optimize handles the processing.
Item Statuses
Each queue item shows its current status:
- Pending — Waiting to be processed
- Processing — Currently being optimized
- Completed — Successfully optimized
- Failed — Optimization failed (can be retried)
- Skipped — Manually skipped by you
- Paused — Temporarily on hold
